Congratulations to Thursday’s winners of perfect attendance donuts:  Mr. Makransky’s 2nd hour CEO and Mrs. Rutkowski’s 2nd hour Child Care!

 

This is a reminder that we will still be on the 1:45 dismissal schedule on Wednesday, however, buses will not run until 2:45 that day to allow for all freshmen to meet with their Link Crew Leaders.

 

There will be a Senior Board meeting on Tuesday, March 21st at 7:20 in room 322. We will be discussing prom ticket sales.

 

Attention ALL FBLA students:   You need to see Mrs. Bedenko-Hill or Mr. Spencer next week to turn in CAV CARD Money!

 

Attention all sophomores, juniors, and seniors!  Are you potentially interested in an agriculture-related field?  If so, please see Mrs. Sittler in room 313 or Mrs. Carney in the counseling office for more information about the fieldtrip to the IVCC Agriculture Open House on April 6.  The forms to attend must be returned by today, and seats are limited.

 

There will be an Art Club meeting in room 213 on Thursday, March, 23 from 2:45-3:45.

 

The intramural 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be held on Tuesday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sellet Gym. Games will also be played on Thursday March 30 if necessary. There will be a male and female division. Sign your team of up to 4 outside Coach Keating’s room 308 by the end of the day March 24 so a schedule can be made. No team signed up after the deadline will be placed in the tournament.

AP Exam sign ups end today. Please pay for your exams in the Bookstore. If you have forgotten your sign up materials, but wish to test, then please email Mrs. Cushing.

Any sophomores or juniors interested in being a Link Leader for the 2017-2018 school year, please fill out an application and return it to Mr. Clydesdale in room 119 or Mrs. Hartman in room 148.  Applications can be picked up at the Greeter's desk, the Library circulation desk, room 119 or room 148.

 

Any freshmen, sophomores or juniors interested in joining student council for the 2017-2018 school year, please see Mr. Clydesdale in room 119 for a petition.

 

Any juniors meeting all qualifications to run for student council president who are interested in running, please see Mr. Clydesdale in room 119.

 

There will be a Link Leader meeting in room 119 during all lunch periods on Thursday, March 23.

 

Attention Junior Board:  we will have a meeting this Thursday at 7:25 in order collect Butter Braid Forms. Mr. Berard needs to collect the forms and the money.  

 

There is an open gym Tuesday and Thursday. Meet in the Sellett gym. Any questions ask Coach Vickery.

 

The Tireless and Staff awards are travelling trophies given to a faculty and staff member who have shown dedication and commitment to the students of LP High School.  These individuals go above and beyond daily to provide students with an environment that encourages and supports excellence. Please pick up a form at the greeters desk and nominate a deserving faculty or staff member who you would like to see recognized. All forms are due in by April 7th.

 

Attention Literary Festival Team Members:   LP is hosting the Literary Festival this year on Friday, April 7. Please meet in Mrs. Phillips’ room (322) at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23 for a brief meeting concerning the Literary Festival. If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Mrs. Phillips before or after school the following week.

Attention Cavaliers, Starting this Friday, Team Skyler and Team Will be selling their products during lunches. We accept cash or checks made payable to Cav Shop Co. Attention Cavaliers! Is your hair 8 inches or longer? If so, you are eligible to donate to the Children With Hair Loss Foundation at this year’s hair drive on April 26th. They are a nonprofit group that donates wigs to children that have been affected by a disease or event that has prevented them from growing hair. If you are interested in participating in this amazing event, stop by the greeter’s desk for additional information or sign up for a time slot. If you are not able to donate hair but would still like to contribute, TOPs will be collecting money in the cafeteria the week of the drive, starting on Monday, April 24th. If you have any more questions please see a TOPs member or Mrs. Ganze.

 

The Green Team would like to invite you to join hundreds of millions of people around the world and turn off your lights for one hour next Saturday night to show your commitment to the planet and our collective fight against climate change. There has never been a more timely and important moment for the world to stand in solidarity for the protection of our planet. Help us to make Earth Hour 2017 the best one yet!

 

Attention Science Club our next meeting will be on Friday, March 24th right after school in room 305.  Bring your permission slip for Liberty village if you have not already turned it in to Mrs. Depenbrock.

 

Attention prom goers, tickets will be going on sale March 30 – April 7 during lunch hours. The price of tickets per couple is $80.00. A single ticket may be purchased for $40.00. There will be no ticket sales after April 7. Price of ticket will not be refunded.

 

L-P Prom Registration Form is required at the time of ticket purchase and can be picked up at the greeter’s desk. If your date does not attend LP, you must submit a Guest Request Form to the Dean’s office by March 29 in order to purchase your ticket.

 

This weekend the LP Debate team proudly represented LP High School at the 2017 IHSA State Debate final tournament. Varsity debaters Brooklynn Gosnell, Breyer Kinzer, Ashley Hines and Alexa Dawson earned 7 winning ballots after 5 grueling rounds of state debate. The debate team thus ends the season with 28 rounds won total. Congratulations LP Debate on your best season ever.

 

Attention junior students: This is a reminder to sign up in the Bookstore if you will need transportation home from school after taking the SAT exam. Bus transportation will only be provided to those who sign up by March 28th.

 

Attention seniors: Make sure you check out the scholarship page under the lphs website. Several new scholarships have been added.
